I found this band on MySpace a long time ago called Dr Manhattan. I enjoyed their music because it’s what I was into about a year ago, the electro-punk movement. After a week of listening to them I never paid much attention to them after that. Then I read on the web that they were signed to Vagrant Records and thought that it was weird them being only one of those MySpace bands.

The other day I bought their first full-length self-titled release on Vagrant and now I retract any negative thoughts. I understand!

Dr Manhattan has the potential to be the next indie rock bands to break the silence of the underground. Their infectious even, club worthy beats, are those to equivalent to an earlier, more in depth and dark Panic At The Disco.

At first spin, this record will sweep listeners away when the lyrics asking why to the meaning of life. This isn’t your next emo shattered heart record though! It’s done in such a way you’re almost taken into the bands thoughts and dreams after a night at an intoxicating rave.

Using every sound possible on a synthesizer, Dr Manhattan have accomplished with their first album (that many bands never even get close to completing) something to be proud of.

Dr Manhattan is the whole package for a band. Hopefully the future is great for them because no doubt this band and album will be over looked incredibly.

I was in a music slump thinking nothing will ever make me excited about rhythm and beats again. I would like to send my formal gratitude to Dr Manhattan saying thank you! Thank you for saving me and showing me that original music still exists out there and a good album doesn’t have to be drowned in deafening screams and heart shattering breakdowns.
